Celtic’s recent offer of £2 million for the services of Dunajska Streda striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo will be their last, according to the Daily Star.

The newspaper reports on their website that the Hoops are eager to join forces with the 21-year-old this month, but Brendan Rodgers will take his search for a striker further if the young ace’s club knock back their most recent offer.

The report adds that Bayo – who has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season – is interested in a move to Celtic this month.

If the Slovakian outfit do accept the Hoops’ final offer, then most of the fee would be paid up front for Bayo, with a sell-on fee also included.

Good move for Celtic?

Bayo’s goal tally of 18 goals in all competitions speaks for itself, especially with the Hoops in dire need of a prolific striker. As much as this figure seems attractive, however, the youngster has not been tested at the highest level, meaning a move for him could turn out to be a risk. Nevertheless, this is a signing Rodgers may regret not making – as Bayo could turn out to be revelation at the club. This is a wise move by Celtic, and they will no doubt have their fingers crossed that their bid of £2 million is accepted.

Likely to happen?

Yes, the move is likely to happen if Bayo’s club accept Celtic’s most recent offer. If they do not, then a move is definitely off the cards, as the report states that this bid will be their final one. They do face a little bit of competition from Austrian outfit Rapid Vienna, but the report says that Bayo is keen on a move to Scotland – meaning a move is looking increasingly likely by the minute.
