Celtic may have secured their second league win of the week with a 3-0 win over Hamilton at Parkhead on Saturday. But the triumph owed much to the inadequacies of the visitors, most notably their goalkeeper , who was at fault for both of the first two goals scored by Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie. The home side lacked fluency and much of their build-up play was stodgy. Mikael Lustig has been regularly criticised by Celtic fans this season, with the general feeling that he is nowhere near the player who was once a beacon of the side who have dominated Scottish football for so long. The Sweden international lined up alongside Kristoffer Ajer, Filip Benkovic and Emilio Izaguirre in a new-look defence in front of keeper Scott Bain. They looked nervous and tentative in possession, as they struggled without the calming presence of first-choice pair Kieran Tierney and Dedryck Boyata. None was worse than Lustig and it is little wonder he was the subject of so much fans’ criticism.
