Rangers have confirmed that left-back Myles Beerman has joined Gzira United on loan for the rest of the season.

The Gers announced on their official Youth Academy Twitter account on Thursday that the deal has been agreed for the 19-year-old starlet to join the Maltese Premier League club.

Beerman spent the first half of the season on loan with Birkirkara, but only managed just one start for them across all competitions.

OPINION

Beerman was quite an exiting young player when Pedro Caixinha started to use him in the first team in the 2016/17 season, however the fact that he is struggling to get a game in Malta means that he might not ever be good enough to get in the Rangers senior side again. He has made eight first team appearances for the Light Blues, but he managed to play just nine times, mostly off the bench, for Birkirkara, which is not good enough by any means. There is still hope for the young Malta international. Steven Gerrard will be wanting him to shine while on loan at Gzira United, who are currently in third place in the Maltese Premier League – one place above Birkirkara. It’s a step up in terms of the league table, so Beerman could potentially find it even harder to start games. His future at Rangers will surely be assessed over the next few months.
