OPINION
Steven Davis looks as though he might finally be returning to Rangers, and understandably, a section of the clubs supporters are completely blown away by the fact that he could be their first signing of the January transfer window. Express journalist Bruce Archer claimed via his personal Twitter account on Monday night that Davis, 34, is ready to take a pay cut in order to return to Ibrox and that an 18 month deal is currently on the table for him to seal his switch this week. Although the Northern Ireland international is struggling for game-time at Southampton this season, he would still be a very good addition for the Gers. Steven Gerrard’s midfield trio of Ryan Jack, Scott Arfield and Ross McCrorie bossed Celtic on Saturday, but there have been too many occasions this season where the Rangers midfield has been overrun and lacked creativity and leadership. Hopefully Davis’ experience can stop those issues, and that is why so many Gers fans are thrilled with this update.
