Wolverhampton Wanderers are among a number of Premier League and Championship sides in the hunt for Birmingham City’s Che Adams as the heat rises over the 22-year-old striker, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper claim on their website that as many as 12 top flight sides are chasing the Blues star after his 13 goals in 27 second tier appearances this season, with Wolves among the chasing pack.

It is stated that the Premier League sides watched on in Birmingham’s 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough on Saturday, Adams netting his side’s goal, with Burnley, Leicester City and Huddersfield named as sides keen on his capture.

Good move for Wolves?

While Raul Jimenez has impressed for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season, there has been a lack of quality options to replace their star striker at Molineux, Leo Bonatini failing to make the grade in the Premier League.

At 22 Adams has plenty of potential and it appears as though he is ready to make the step up to the top flight this month, with clubs likely to launch moves between now and the end of the transfer window.

Wolves could definitely do with a player of his qualities and it is no surprise to see them named among the chasing pack for his capture.

Whether he would be a starter or left as a backup option remains to be seen but he would be a great addition to the squad nonetheless.

Likely to happen?

The competition means that Wolves might have a battle on their hands for his capture but there is a lot going in the club’s favour.

They can offer first team football from the off and money is not going to be a problem for the club’s mega-rich owners, so they can give Birmingham exactly what they want for the emerging talent.

Living and playing in the midlands means that a move to Wolves would not be much of a personal issue either.
