Stan Collymore has given Wolves some advice of how to improve over the next 18 months following their 4-3 win over Leicester on Saturday.

Diogo Jota netted a hattrick, with the last of the goals coming in the form of a last gasp winner that sealed all three points for the home side and saw boss Nuno Espirito Santo sent off for celebrating.

The outspoken pundit says that if the Midland based outfit are able to handle defending their set pieces a lot better and are able to buy a striker who scores on a regular basis, then the next 18 months will be very good indeed.

“Wolves. Learn how to defend set pieces, buy that consistent fox in the box and the next 18 months are very very rosy,” tweeted Collymore via his personal Twitter account.

OPINION

Despite the fact that Wolves recorded what could be regarded as an impressive win, Collymore is right about what they need to improve on in the future. Their inability to defend set pieces properly is what made this such a high-scoring game in the first place, as it allowed Leicester to get themselves in with a shout quite a few times. If they do that, then everything might run that little bit smoother. As for buying another striker, that is absolutely paramount. Yes, Jota was magnificent on Saturday and it looks likely that Raul Jimenez will be signed on permanent basis come the summer if Wolves get their way, but buying a forward who is able to find the back of the net on a regular basis will propel them to new heights. Their strikers have let them down too many times this season and it is about time they had one which they can trust implicitly to deliver them the goods.
