West Ham United fell to a humiliating 4-2 defeat at the hands of League One strugglers AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, so it would be no surprise that the fans would be up in arms.

The Dons raced into a 3-0 lead following a double from Scott Wagstaff and a deflected strike from Kwesi Appiah, and despite the Hammers hoping to restore some normality following goals from Felipe Anderson and Lucas Perez, Wimbledon delivered the last blow courtesy of Toby Sibbick.

Manuel Pellegrini will have to make some changes to his side to for the clash with Wolves in the Premier League on Tuesday if he is to face any chance of getting a positive result to get things back on track, with changes coming in goal and the defence.

Lukasz Fabianski should return to his usual spot in between the sticks at the expense of Adrian, who had an evening to forget on Saturday.

The next two changes should come in the defence, with the abysmal Michail Antonio – who is on £70,000-a-week [Spotrac] – must be set for the chopping block to accommodate the consistent Pablo Zabaleta, while Arthur Masuaku must be dropped in order for Aaron Cresswell to take back his spot at left-back.

Declan Rice was an unused substitute in this match, and it is clear that the loss reflected his absence somewhat, so it is a no-brainer to put him in the starting XI once again, but at the expense of Pedro Obiang.

Javier Hernandez was not the most effective option that West Ham could have had up front, so he must move aside for Felipe Anderson to come in just behind the main striker.

In Saturday’s defeat, Andy Carroll led the line, but to no benefits whatsoever – so despite the attention that Marko Arnautovic is gathering due to penning a new deal, he must start up front if the Irons are going to stand a chance of winning in mid week.

If Pellegrini makes the right choices regarding the line-up on Tuesday, then his team would be able to blitz past Wolves with ease.
