Tottenham are making a frustrating blunder by their reported stance on signing PSG playmaker Adrien Rabiot as they’re apparently not going to pursue him.

According to the Daily Mail Spurs are not set to try and sign the 23-year-old who has six caps for France in the summer even though he could be  a potential bargain with his contract expiring.

The national newspaper state that Tottenham have other targets as priorities and while that’s  understandable, given Rabiot’s contract scenario it still seems odd not to go after him.

A playmaker may not be high right now on the shopping list but players of Rabiot’s age and quality rarely come along for such an affordable price.

The 23-year-old who is capable of being a top-side’s playmaker due to his sublime passing ability as well as being a defensive midfielder due to his strength, is set to have a bright future in the game.

Rabiot has dazzled in his career already after featuring 227 times for PSG and is destined to get better due to continuing to pick up experience.

You feel even if Mauricio Pochettino isn’t despite for a playmaker right now, there’s room for Rabiot in his squad due to the player’s versatility and the fact you know he could be a real sensation if he continues his current projection.

While competition is set to be intense for the 23-year-old, it just seems odd that Spurs won’t even look at pursuing a deal as you feel given their apparent hesitancy to spend big in transfer windows, Rabiot is clearly one of the best players on the market in their reach.

Therefore it’s a frustrating blunder for them not even to consider signing the international playmaker as you feel he could be a player that they will regret not having in their squad when the dust is cleared.
