Bournemouth have made an £8million bid to sign Abdulkadir Omur, according to Fotospor, but Tottenham must intervene to make sure they land the player dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’.

The 19-year-old midfielder is understood to also be a target for Liverpool, although a report in the Independent suggest that the Reds have distanced themselves from a move for the man with the eye-catching nickname.

Spurs could pull off a masterstroke by beating their Premier League rivals to his signature, however.

Although £8million is unlikely to be enough to bring him to England, an offer in excess of that would still be a bargain and would barley be stretch for a club of Spurs’s size, especially as they look for cheaper ways to strengthen their squad in the coming months.

The teenager still has a lot to learn, but Mauricio Pochettino has a proven track record of nurturing and developing youth, and there are few places in Europe where Omur would be as likely to flourish.

The precocious talent has scored twice and assisted four more for current club Trabzonspor so far this campaign, and should have a lot more to offer in the future.

Spurs must make sure they snap him up now while they still have a chance.
