COMMENTARY
At 18-years-old, there already seems to be a lot of pressure on the shoulders of Tottenham’s Oliver Skipp and it is fair to say he did not live up to expectation among the majority of Spurs supporters against Tranmere on Friday night. The Lilywhites may well have progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup but young Skipp, on what was just his second start for the senior side, caught a lot of attention, most of it for the wrong reasons. He evidently has plenty to learn – not a surprise considering he has only been brought into the first team in the last couple of months – but considering this was against League Two opposition, you can understand the supporters’ frustrations. Injuries have fast tracked him into the senior setup but perhaps it was too much too soon. You can be sure that Mauricio Pochettino will have plenty of food for thought after this performance from the teenage starlet and while he could be another homegrown hero in north London, he has quite some way to go before he gets there.
This is Futbol has gathered a selection of the supporters’ tweets:

Skipp looks so average honestly

Skipp has been Spurs' worst player tonight. No awareness of the time he has, or lack thereof. Been struggling since the start. #COYS

Skipp can't even cope against league 2 Tranmere but people think that he's good enough to play in the premier league

Walker peters and foyth playing well, aurier with a good goal and playing ok. Lucas poor, skipp awful ( I know he's young )

Llorente actually gets worse every time I watch him, he should retire. And I know skipp is young but doesn’t look anywhere near up to our level and shouldn’t be playing for us unless he gets better with age #THFC #COYS

However, it was not all doom and gloom for the young talent, with a couple of fans able to take a positive out of what they saw on Friday night:
