OPINION
On a busy day for Liverpool transfers, a major talking point among supporters is the reportedly imminent exit of Nathaniel Clyne to Bournemouth, where he is set to be joined by Dominic Solanke. The striker is in advanced talks over a permanent transfer, while the right-back is set to join on loan for the rest of the season. Mirror correspondent David Maddock reports that Jurgen Klopp is prepared to loan out former England international Clyne because he is satisfied with his alternative options at right-back to first choice Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Jurgen Klopp prepared to let Nathaniel Clyne go out on loan because he is expecting Joe Gomez to be back in training in next fortnight, and also has Fabinho, James Milner, and – intriguingly – 16 year old Ki-Jana Hoever as cover. Deal to end of season. #LFC

Rightly so. Joe Gomez is on the comeback trail and offers a superior option to Clyne at right-back, even though he is better at centre-back, as does master-of-all-trades James Milner. Quite why so many Liverpool fans are in meltdown at the exit of a little-used right-back who has slipped way down the pecking order over the last 18 months is rather baffling. Klopp’s decision is spot-on, despite what some are saying.

Such a mistake. Gomez is poor at right back and that will mean playing lovren more. I can see absolutely no benefit here. Awful decision

I'm shocked

No. ?. Please don't tell me klopp is gonna stick Gomez at right back for the rest of the season. He has potential to be a word class CB. If he picks Lovren over Gomez I'll loose my head.
