Tottenham have tabled a new bid for Leeds United sensation Jack Clarke, according to Football Insider.

The reliable site claim the Premier League giants have proposed a fresh offer to buy the winger, 18, this month and loan him back to Elland Road for the rest of the season.

Football Insider report Leeds “will not entertain that offer” and have sent the message to Spurs that Clarke will remain with them until the summer, at least.

OPINION

Can Leeds fans now rest easy, safe in the knowledge their rising star will remain at Elland Road at least until the end of the season? Well, pretty much, so, yes. It is a measure of how highly Spurs rate the United academy product that they are willing to construct the same buy-to-loan deal that took Dele Alli from MK Dons to White Hart Lane at this point of the season four years ago. That £5million deal proved to be some of the best money Tottenham ever spent in the modern transfer era, and the club clearly regard Clarke as a player capable of making a big impact at Premier League level. That should fill the teenager with great confidence, but he should not let it go to his head, either. The fact is Leeds aren’t willing to entertain offers for him, however they are structured. The academy product needs to concentrate on repaying the faith of his employers rather than engineering an exit to a Premier League big hitter.
