Liverpool teenager Rafael Camacho is set to make his debut for the club in their FA Cup clash against Wolves next week, according to James Pearce.

The Echo’s Anfield correspondent reports in the newspaper that the wide attacker, 18, could make his bow for the Merseyside giants even though the club are opening to loaning him out this month.

Pearce explains Jurgen Klopp is set to make wholesale changed for the FA Cup third-round tie following an intense Premier League schedule.

It makes sense on Liverpool holding fire on loaning out Camacho. They must do what is best, firstly, for the club and, secondly, for the player amid reports in Portugal that the Lisbon-born youngster is closing in on a loan-to-buy transfer to Sporting. The 18-year-old is certainly not a player Liverpool should be looking to sell permanently. A loan for the rest of the season does, though, make sense, as he needs senior game time at this key stage in his career to assess whether he has the potential to make it as a future first-teamer at Liverpool. Given the sound impression he has made at Melwood since joining first team training on a permanent basis, as well as his consistent goalscoring and creating at Under-23s level, Camacho is certainly one to keep an eye on. Liverpool fans will be eager to see him at first hand next Monday in the all-Premier League clash at Molineux.
