COMMENTARY
It is fair to say that the Chronicle’s report suggesting that there are a number of clubs interested in making a move for Joselu this month has got most of the Newcastle United faithful stunned – an understandably so. The Spanish striker is by no means flavour of the month at St James’ Park and his performances have been slaughtered time and again this season. Currently second in the pecking order on Tyneside behind Salomon Rondon, the reactions of the supporters makes it clear as to what they think of him – one suggesting he should be cleaning boots rather than wearing them and another insisting they would be better off playing with 10 men. To be quite honest it does come as a surprise to hear that there is any sort of interest in his capture and the Toon Army are obviously quite keen for their side to take full advantage, regardless of how much or little the offer might be. He is a body in the squad and that is important but there is definitely a lack of quality and he would not be missed.
