OPINION
There might be a whole division in the shape of the Championship between north east rivals Newcastle United and Sunderland but that does not stop the fans from keeping an eye on what their near-neighbours are up to. With the Black Cats reported by Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie to have scheduled a medical for a Premier League striker on deadline day, the St James’ Park faithful jumped on board by suggesting and/or hoping that it would be their own Spanish hitman Joselu making the short move from Tyneside to Wearside. With Salomon Rondon the first choice the former Stoke man would not be missed and it the fact he is being touted with a move to the Stadium of Light by the Toon Army goes to show how low he stands in their esteem. They are very likely to be disappointed on deadline day, although Joselu could still find himself moving elsewhere before the end of the window.

Sunderland HAVE had a bid accepted by a PL team for an unknown striker. Medical booked for tomorrow. Five other teams wanted him but he’s chosen Sunderland #SAFC
