Many Newcastle United fans were probably peacefully enjoying their Wednesday evening however that was until former Sunderland player Micky Grant gave his verdict on the current situation at the Magpies. In quite a lengthy rant on talkSPORT (Wednesday January 23rd, 16:12) as transcribed on This Is Futbol Gray revealed he was “bored” of constantly hearing all the comings and goings-on at the Magpies. Several Magpies fans took issue with him claiming he was bored and proceeded to lash out at Sunderland as a way to reveal how little they cared about Gray’s opinion. Many urged him to focus on his former side seeing as they were struggling to hold a lead in League One while others just wanted to proudly point out what tier of English football they were currently in. While the Magpies and Sunderland are separated currently, it seems the rivalry between them is as fierce as ever and all it needed was Gray to share his opinion on Rafa Benitez’s side to light a match to see social media go wild.
