West Brom defender Tosin Adarabioyo could see his loan deal with the Baggies terminated over the coming days as parent side Manchester City look to hand the 21-year-old more playing time, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The newspaper claim on their website that with Mason Holgate, who arrived on loan from Everton this month, having limited Adarabioyo’s game time, City are looking at tearing up his deal over the coming days with a view to securing another loan deal elsewhere.

The 6’4″ giant (source: Transfermarkt) has made 23 appearances for the Baggies this season but with just one minute of league action in their last two games it seems City fear for his place in the side for the second half of the season.

Opinion

It would be a real shame if Adarabioyo was to leave the Hawthorns this month, for he has been a solid, if unremarkable, performer for Darren Moore. His versatility at the back, able to play on the right or in the centre of defence, has helped the Baggies out on more than one occasion and with the club looking to seal a promotion spot this season there is a need for depth in quality. However, it seems City do not want him to be battling for his place in the side – a ridiculous notion when you consider that is exactly how football works – and are willing to tear up their deal with West Brom in order to send him elsewhere. There is absolutely no guarantee that he would be as much of a success at a new side as he has been with West Brom and disrupting his season by shipping him off elsewhere could quite easily damage his development. Of course, if the player wants out that is another matter entirely, but for now he seems pretty settled at the Hawthorns.
