Manchester City sensation Luke Bolton is set to head out on loan this month after agreeing a new contract with the club, according to Football Insider.

The reliable site claim the forward, 19, has signed a new three-and-a-half deal and Pep Guardiola has given the green light for him to make a temporary exit for the second half of the season.

Football Insider report a number of Football League clubs have enquired about signing Bolton on loan and City are eager for him to gain valuable first-team experience.

OPINION

Stockport-born Bolton is among a crop of hugely talented City players with the potential to be Premier League stars of the future. The super-quick wide forward is behind the likes of Phil Foden in the pecking order at Etihad Stadium and has yet to make his senior bow. But there is plenty of excitement behind the scenes about his potential, and Bolton has demonstrated in youth-team football that he is bursting with potential.  He is a regular for City’s Under-23s and has scored for the club’s Under-21s this season in the Checkatrade Trophy and also in last week’s win over Rochdale to set up a quarter-final tie with Sunderland. Capped by England at Under-20 level, Bolton would be an outstanding January loan signing for an ambitious Championship club. All those within a hop, skip and a jump of Manchester should be doing all they can to persuade Bolton and City to do a deal before the 31 January cut-off.
