For a long time now, many Everton fans have been crying out for Ademola Lookman to get his chance at a run in the starting lineup, and in Everton’s FA Cup clash with Lincoln City on Saturday he more than vindicated their opinion. The 21-year-old was electric against the Imps at Goodison Park, scoring the Toffees’ first goal and generally making nuisance of himself. HIs work ethic and willingness to run the channels were a huge advantage for the Blues, as was his rotation across the front line as he looked to disrupt Lincoln at every opportunity. There really is no reason why he shouldn’t be in Marco Silva’s starting 11 on a regular basis. Theo Walcott has looked disappointing for much of the season, and Lookman is clearly talented and hungry. If he can get a good run in the side there’s no saying how well he could do, and with the UEFA Nations League on the horizon, Gareth Southgate would surely welcome his continued inclusion for the national setup.
