Everton fans must jump for joy as the future of midfielder Idrissa Gueye looks secure after Sky Germany shared that Paris St Germain were looking elsewhere in this transfer window.

According to Sky Germany PSG’s efforts to sign the 29-year-old midfielder, who is a part of Marco Silva’s side, were pretty much at an end as it had been made clear by the Toffees that they weren’t about to part company with the player this month.

The broadcaster shared that Paris St Germain manager Thomas Tuchel had now turned his attention to signing Borussia Dortmund defensive midfielder Julian Weigl and had even had personal conversations with the player in order to move things along.

While Sky point out that Borussia Dortmund aren’t keen on selling their talented player, their report does show how it seems the Toffees have secured the future of Gueye.

While other clubs will clearly continued to be keen on the talented midfielder, being able to scare PSG off pursuing him, sends a clear message that the Toffees are capable of holding on to their stars regardless of who is interested in them.

Gueye has played 19 times across all competitions this season and is clearly the best midfielder the Toffees have when it comes to winning the battle for the ball in the middle park.

Toffees supporters were no doubt fearing losing him to PSG as they have witnessed their struggle without Gueye to call upon at times this season as he has missed the odd game due to injury.

Without the midfield enforcer in the first team, the Toffees have a tendency to look frail and vulnerable to being bullied into submission.

Therefore Everton supporters should be jumping for joy after Sky’s updated on PSG’s pursuit of Gueye as it shows the player’s future is securely at Goodison Park as it stands.
