Chelsea have bid £1million for Bristol City forward Antoine Semenyo, according to the Daily Mail.

The national newspaper claim that Bristol City want closer to £2million for the 19-year-old attacker but it’s not known whether they are yet to knock back the Premier League side’s offer.

The Daily Mail report that Chelsea are keen to recruit Semenyo as he has been impressing on loan with Newport County in League Two this season and they see him as being a potential prospect for their U-23s side.

Good Move for Chelsea?

Yes as he could be a worthwhile player for the future.

Semenyo has be wowing so much at Newport County in his 18/19 campaign that the Blues aren’t the only Premier League side tracking his progress.

The forward has been involved in eight goals so far this season, scoring six while assisting two, and could be a real handful if he continues to develop.

While the Blues will likely have to raise their £1million offer to get him to meet his £2million price tag, it’s still a cheap price to pay for such a promising prospect.

Likely to happen?

Well Chelsea are definitely keen on Semenyo as they have acted on their interest by submitting an opening bid, so there’s a chance he could soon arrive at Stamford Bridge.

However they will need to up their offer for this scenario to develop, something they’ll probably be open to, so it’s definitely on the cards.

You feel that Bristol City will likely cash in on their prospect based on the report above, so the only way he is not heading to Stamford Bridge is if other clubs lure him to them instead.

This is because the Daily Mail’s report states that other Premier League sides are interested so there’s a chance the Blues could be beaten to his signature.
