Newcastle United are on the verge of signing left-back Jordan Lukaku on loan from Lazio, according to Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur.
The HLN reporter claimed via his personal Twitter account on Thursday that the Magpies want to get the deal finalised tomorrow (Friday), ahead of the weekend.

Sky Sports Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on his personal website that Lukaku, 24, will be signing for the Magpies on an initial loan with the option to be made permanent in the future.
Lukaku looks set to be Newcastle’s first signing of the January transfer window.
Good move for Newcastle?
Rafa Benitez needs a new left-back in his side so signing Lukaku definitely adds an extra body to his squad going into the second-half of the season.
However the Belgium international has struggled with injury this season and has only managed eight appearances in all competitions for Lazio, with just the one start in Serie A.
It might take him a while to get up to speed but once he does Newcastle will have themselves a very attack-minded left-back who could cause opponents some issues.

With reports coming from Italy and Belgium about the move, it definitely seems as though there is something going to happen.
Whether or not Newcastle get the deal wrapped up before the weekend, they still seem as though they will be adding Lukaku to their squad before the end of the month.
