Graham Roberts has urged Tottenham to go out and re-sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid after Harry Kane was ruled out of action for the next couple of months with an ankle injury – and surely Spurs fans will get goosebumps if they can pull off this unbelievable move.

Roberts, via his personal Twitter account, has made it clear that he wants Mauricio Pochettino to welcome the Wales international back to North London this month.

The Spurs legend said “let’s go for Gareth Bale” in response to a fan who suggested that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be a good short-term replacement for Kane.

Spurs have not signed a single player since Lucas Moura arrived at the club from Paris Saint-Germain last January, but it would be some stellar work by Daniel Levy if he was able to lure Bale back to the club.

Tottenham fans have been constantly calling for the club to re-sign the 29-year-old from Real Madrid after leaving them to join the Spanish giants in September 2013.

Since joining them he has won a staggering four Champions League titles, however his presence at the Bernabeu has undoubtedly started to fade due to multiple injury issues and the continual squad rotation in effect in Madrid.

He has scored 10 goals this season for Los Blancos and has the ability to play up front, even though he was seen more as a left-sided winger during his days at Tottenham.

The Welsh star would definitely walk straight into Pochettino’s starting line-up while Kane is out, but would he seriously consider a return to North London?

There’s little chance, but just imagine if Spurs were able to sign him – fans would surely lose their minds even if there was just a glimmer of hope.
