Jack Harrison hasn’t had the best time at Leeds this season but he’s come into his own in the last couple of games.

There’s a feeling that he could be finally settling in in the Championship, and his recent displays have proved that he can play a big part in the second-half of the season.

Even the most critical of Leeds fans will have noticed this.

That’s why Phil Hay’s latest update on Harrison’s status at Leeds will make the fans very happy indeed.

Writing in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Hay said: “The terms of Lewis Baker’s loan from Chelsea meant Leeds United were powerless to block his recall even though the club planned to keep him. Baker’s appearances fell short of the number stipulated by Chelsea and he was gone within days of the January window opening.

“Jack Harrison’s involvement under Marcelo Bielsa has been regular enough to deny Manchester City the same right.”

Hay goes on to say that there’s “no suggestion” anyway that anyone at Man City would want to try and recall him, and that means that barring any unforeseen circumstances, he should remain a Leeds player until the end of the season.

This is great news. Harrison himself has acknowledged that he needs to do better and the last two games has shown that he’s more than capable of it.

He’s a player who is admired by Pep Guardiola and we think he could be saving his best for when it really counts.

Harrison could be a massive player for Leeds between now and the end of the season.
