Premier League big guns are to set to lodge formal offers for Leeds United sensation Jack Clarke after Friday night’s clash against Derby County, according to Football Insider.

The reliable site claim four clubs from the top flight will watch the teenage attacker in action for Leeds at Elland Road before “firming up their interest” with bids.

Football Insider report that delays in talks between Leeds and Clarke over a new contract has alerted the Premier League elite and they are keen to land him this month.

Good move for Leeds?

Definitely not. Sure, Clarke could attract a fee well beyond £10million after making a huge impact for Leeds since being fast-tracked into the first team in recent months. There is no doubt he is a youngster going places and it is no surprise the Premier League are interested. Clarke is, along with Kemar Roofe and Pontus Jansson, probably United’s most valuable asset and one of the three most likely to attract the kind of fee that the club would find difficult to turn down. There doesn’t appear to be much money swimming around the coffers of the Yorkshire giants, which must be a big concern as the big guns circle. Certainly, Leeds must fend off their interest this month. They must work to offer Clarke an improved contract that reflects the huge progress he has made.

Likely to happen?

Clarke’s contract situation is a concern, and that means Leeds are vulnerable to losing him, if they do not tie him to an improved agreement. It is a worry that the elite clubs are planning to be in attendance at Elland Road. That demonstrates interest in the teenager is real and present right now.
