Leeds United have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Mateusz Bogusz and the deal is “just waiting to be confirmed”, according to Phil Hay.

The Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent delivered an update on United’s late-window activity in an exchange with a supporter on Twitter.

Hay explained the club are still working on recruiting Daniel James from Swansea by Thursday’s deadline and a deal is all but done for Polish 17-year-old Bogusz.

He added that Hadi Sacko, th Mali international winger who cut short his loan at Las Palmas last week to return to Elland Road, could now be headed to Turkey.

James is the transfer that all Leeds fans are talking about. It had previously been reported that Bogusz was set to undergo a Leeds medical on Monday after jetting into the country from Poland the previous evening, so it is no surprise that the deal is done and he will imminently be paraded as a new signing. As for Wales international James, that is a deal that appears to be in the balance. Leeds certainly want him, and reports on Monday stated a bid worth £6million plus £4million of add-ons had been submitted to Swansea City after their manager Graham Potter admitted talks were ongoing and a deadline-day transfer was on the cards. It now appears more likely than not that James will be unveiled in a white jersey within the next 72 hours. There is more wrangling to do, but Swansea appear to need the cash as they struggle to deal with their second-tier status following Premier League 2017-18 relegation.
