Aston Villa have had a bit of an unstable season to say the least – the sacking of Steve Bruce undoubtedly shook them a bit – but one player who has remained stable is defender Axel Tuanzebe.

Currently on loan from Manchester United for the season, the 21-year-old has made 21 appearances in all competitions for Villa, and he has been a rock in the centre of the defence.

Many fans would have been sceptical about the club signing a barely-seen player from United, but he has gone on leaps and bounds since his arrival in the summer.

Therefore, boss Dean Smith must ensure that the club sign Tuanzebe on a permanent basis when his loan expires at the end of the season, as he has been a vital asset to their success – despite being currently injured.

The young ace would no doubt be attracted to a permanent move to Villa, as his first team opportunities are likely to be virtually non existent at Manchester United, especially under their new manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

At Villa, he knows he is guaranteed first team football, so turning his stay into a permanent one should be a no-brainer.

However, plenty of clubs will definitely be attracted to his services in the summer, and this is something that the club must be incredibly wary of.

Why wouldn’t they be interested? The youngster has been fantastic so far, and he is arguably one of their best players of the season.

Plenty of Aston Villa fans would be over the moon if the club managed to pull all of the stops for Tuanzebe, as he is one of the most reliable defenders Smith has at his disposal.

Seeing the 6ft [Transfermarkt] enforcer return to Manchester United at the end of the campaign would be a travesty, and it would be a waste of his talent after such a stellar season.

Over to you, Smith.
