It seems pretty clear that these Celtic fans have failed to do their homework on Jeffry Bruma before saying that they would want the club to sign the Wolfsburg centre-back. Brendan Rodgers needs to bolster his defence before the end of January, but not by signing players who are just as injury-prone as Marvin Compper and not really any better than Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic. Bruma was linked with the Bhoys in the summer, and that is probably why a bunch of supporters are now drooling over the defender and creating a buzz about him on social media. German newspaper BILD reported in August that Celtic were lining up a £7million bid for the ex-Chelsea defender, but it is a good job they didn’t because he has not made a single appearance for Wolfsburg this term due to injury. Rodgers does need to buy a new centre-back or two in 2019 because of Boyata and Benkovic leaving at the end of the season. However he must avoid Bruma at all costs.
