OPINION
Another day, another storming performance from Celtic centre-back Filip Benkovic. The Croatian colossus is making a serious habit of being the Hoops’ best player on the pitch, and you could make a case for him being just that once again on Thursday despite their 2-1 defeat. The Leicester loanee was dominant as ever in defence while he also offered a threat for the Hoops in attack when he was stuck up front as a makeshift centre-forward in the closing moments of the game. Celtic obviously got lucky in progressing despite this defeat, with a late Rosenborg goal securing second place in the group, and hopefully Benkovic will still be around to strut his stuff in the knockout stages. There have been rumblings about Leicester taking him back in January, but the signs are all pointing to a stay in Glasgow for the rest of the season. These drooling fans below were obviously appreciative of another strong display from Benkovic, and will be hoping he does indeed stick around past the January window.
