COMMENTARY
It is one thing as a footballer to have your own fans celebrating your performance on Twitter but you know that you have done something special when your club’s rivals are all applauding you. That is exactly what happened when Harvey Barnes took to the pitch on Friday night in West Brom’s West Midlands Derby clash against Aston Villa. The Baggies might have fallen behind to an unfortunate deflected own goal but a moment of Barnes magic turned things around for Darren Moore’s side – not for the first time this season. He left Alan Hutton on the floor as he worked his way down the wing before delivering the perfect ball for Dwight Gayle’s equaliser. He continued to be a thorn in the side of the Villans’ for the entire game and it is no surprise to see fans of all clubs celebrating what they saw. He is a special talent and one who brings the X-factor to the Hawthorns. Long may it continue, for it makes for such an entertaining watch.
