West Brom could consider signing two strikers in the January transfer window, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The newspaper claims that the Baggies are bracing themselves for interest in Jay Rodriguez next month, and the Black Country club will try to sign a replacement if the ex-Burnley star leaves The Hawthorns.

It is also understood that Darren Moore is considering the possibility of adding another forward to his squad, meaning that Albion could end up signing two new strikers in the New Year.

OPINION

West Brom fans will be very sceptical about this. The Baggies have never been a club to spend big in January and when they do make signings, it usually sees them get someone useless like Ali Gabr or Callum McManaman. West Brom were in a mess behind the scenes over the summer meaning that Moore and Mark Jenkins were basically the only two people being able to make transfers. Luke Dowling is in as technical director now and he will have a lot of input on signings and Guochuan Lai’s recent visit to the West Midlands means that there could be money spent next month. Albion made a profit on transfers in the summer but they had to in order to help balance the books. They will more than likely only buy if they sell so if Rodriguez goes then expect a replacement. If he stays, Albion fans should not expect any new additions to their attack force in January.
