Rangers must attempt an audacious swoop to sign Sevilla playmaker Ganso in the January transfer window.

According to Brazilian news outlet Globo Esporto, the 29-year-old could have his season-long loan deal at Amiens terminated early in January with him struggling to make an impact with the Ligue 1 club.

It is understood that the eight-times Brazil international could return to his home country in the New Year, but Rangers should have a real go at giving the attacking midfielder one last chance to impress in Europe.

Steven Gerrard definitely needs an attacking midfielder in January to help link the midfield and attack and offer some support to Alfredo Morelos by creating more goals for him and chipping in with goals himself.

Ganso is someone who has been highly-rated through a lot of his career but for whatever reason, it hasn’t worked for him at Sevilla in the last few years, even though he has scored seven goals and assisted six in 28 total appearances for the La Liga club.

He has only made five starts for Amiens this season, but has still managed to score two goals for a club that is looking as though it could be relegated.

Moving to a title-challenger like Rangers could give Ganso the boost he needs and the chance to make a name for himself for one of the biggest clubs in the UK will surely be one that is hard for him to turn down.

Gerrard’s Rangers have faltered in their last couple of fixtures and they need reinforcements in January.

Ganso could be someone who turns this team into one that can seriously challenge for silverware in the second-half of the season.
