Rangers have quite the history when it comes to Italians who have graced Ibrox, with the likes of Gennaro Gattuso, Lorenzo Amoruso, Marco Negri and Sergio Porrini knitted into the tableau of the Gers’ history.

However, there are no Italian talents among the current Rangers squad – something which could be fixed in the January transfer window.

Tutto Mercato Web claim on their website that Serie A heavyweights AC Milan are open to offers for former Liverpool and Sunderland forward Fabio Borini and at 27-years-old, the one-cap international still has plenty of years left to shine.

Forwards is one area where manager Steven Gerrard is severely lacking in depth – with Umar Sadiq failing miserably to back Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty up – and Borini would be a huge improvement on the faltering Roma loanee.

Pacey, aggressive and versatile, Borini is the sort of player to get any stadium bouncing on his day – and that is exactly what will happen at Ibrox if Gerrard seals a reunion for his former teammate.

The pair played 27 games alongside each other during the Italian’s mixed spell at Anfield and so the Gers boss will know exactly how impressive he can be in full flow.

Rangers need some attacking talent to bolster their side and a new Italian hero is the answer to fire the club to future glory.
