Celtic welcome Red Bull Salzburg to Parkhead on Thursday knowing that a draw will take them through to the knockout stages of the Europa League, and Brendan Rodgers is expected to make two changes to his starting XI.

The Hoops come into this crucial European clash with big momentum having dispatched temporary league leaders Kilmarnock 5-1 at Celtic Park at the weekend.

They also secured a crucial 1-0 win against Rosenborg last time out in this competition, with Scott Sinclair netting the only goal of the match.

In goal, Craig Gordon is expected to start as normal.

In defence, Filip Benkovic, Jozo Simunovic and Mikael Lustig are all expected to retain their places, while the returning Kieran Tierney is likely to replace Emilio Izaguirre at left-back.

One more change is expected to come in midfield with playmaker Tom Rogic axed to the bench in favour of 22-year-old Olivier Ntcham due to the Frenchman providing more solidity in that area, while Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor are likely to retain their spots alongside.

In attack, Scott Sinclair and James Forrest are expected to keep their spots on the wing, while Odsonne Edouard is likely to start once again up top.

This means just two changes are expected for Rodgers as he picks a strong team capable of securing a win and guaranteeing European football in the New Year.
