Rio Ferdinand has predicted that Manchester City will breeze to a 3-1 win against Chelsea when the two sides meet at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Pep Guardiola’s side go into the game unbeaten in the Premier League while Chelsea will be looking to make amends after letting slip of a one-goal lead to lose against Wolves on Wednesday.

Man United legend Ferdinand has thrown his weight behind City to continue their unbeaten run, claiming that Guardiola, the tactics and the players will all be too much for Maurizio Sarri’s men.

“At the moment I’m giving Manchester City a 3-0 head start anywhere they go and anyone they play against,” said Ferdinand on Saturday Morning Savage on BT Sport 1 [12:05pm].

“I just think they are that far ahead of everybody else.

“I can see them going to Stamford Bridge and getting a 3-1 win, not a problem.

“They’re on another planet tactically, they’re on another planet in terms of players and they’ve got a manager who’s got them running through brick walls for him.”

OPINION

It would be some result for Man City to score three goals at Chelsea, but Sarri’s men were woeful against Wolves earlier this week and it would not be a shock for the Citizens to stroll to success in London this weekend. Guardiola has somehow managed to make his side look even better than they did last season and they look a lot more likely to go unbeaten this term. Chelsea will be one of the teams tasked with ending City’s unbeaten streak but for whatever reason, Sarri’s players aren’t cutting it right now. Alvaro Morata and Willian are looking toothless in attack and Eden Hazard is in a bit of a slump. It seems at the moment that if Hazard doesn’t play well, Chelsea don’t win, but even if the Belgian does perform better on Saturday evening, it will still he a big task to beat City. Chelsea will be boosted by the fact that Man City have conceded some goals lately, but that’s about it.
