Pat Nevin has gone wild for Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen by saying his “brain is like a computer.”

Even though the star player could be axed for their clash against Leicester City according to the Times, Nevin could not get enough of the 26-year-old, labelling him as “world class.”

He says that Eriksen has the ability to open up any defence in the league with his skill, and that he is one of the best he has ever seen – and is even better than his teammate Harry Kane.

“Yes Harry Kane scores the goals, but Eriksen…Eriksen is totally world-class for me, totally world-class. You need him in the very, very big games as he is the one who can open up any defence,” Nevin said on BBC 5 Live Sport.

“He’s just absolutely phenomenal. He’s world class. I often get people raising their eyebrows at me, but I think he is one of the best players there is.

“I’m thinking ‘your brain is like a computer mate’. He’s extraordinary, he’s one of the best I’ve seen.”

OPINION

Nevin drooling over Eriksen does not come as a surprise – why would it? He has been one of Tottenham’s best players this season and he has been instrumental in their turnaround in form (bar the loss to Arsenal last Sunday). Like Nevin pointed out, his brain “is like a computer” – whenever Spurs are involved in some excellent play, Eriksen is usually at the forefront of it all. A match does not pass without him having some sort of critical involvement and that will no doubt continue for the rest of the season. He has improved vastly since the last campaign and has really come into his own this time around, and his link-up play with Kane is really quite something. Top clubs will be after him in either transfer window next year without a shadow of a doubt, but Mauricio Pochettino will be sure to keep hold of one of his key assets.
