These Rangers fans need to remember that Glenn Middleton is only 18-years-old. If Ryan Kent was fit then the teenager would not have started the 1-0 defeat to Rapid Vienna but Steven Gerrard showed an enormous amount of faith in him when he picked him. It’s not like Middleton has failed to perform in other big-games this season. The teenage attacker scored and assisted a goal against Spartak Moscow in the defeat in Russia last month. He wasn’t very good against Rapid Vienna on Thursday, but some of the criticism aimed at him has been way too harsh. A young player is going to be inconsistent. Middleton has made rapid progress this season and looks like a very good prospect for not only the future, but also now. Fans need to try and get behind him a bit more and think to themselves why he is having an off-day instead of treating him like he has been doing this for years and years.
