OPINION
Celtic fans have been quite harsh on Kristoffer Ajer here. The Norway international did make a very poor mistake in the first-half but was rescued by Craig Gordon making a fine save. However he was being played out of position and he was probably short of match readiness. Mikael Lustig’s head injury in the first-half meant that Ajer had to come on and play at right-back. It’s not a position he is comfortable in at all and that did not help that he had to get back into the groove of things in a strange position to him. The 6ft 5 (transfermarkt) colossus had not played since 11 November before he got the nod by Brendan Rodgers to enter the fray. Ajer is still a good young player and hopefully he can improve in the second-half of the season because the Hoops might really need him when Filip Benkovic’s loan ends and if Dedryck Boyata does not sign a new deal.

Where do I start with that half. Salzburg are a class above us. Ajer isn’t match fit.
