OPINION
It seemed more as though it was ‘one of those days’ for Kyle Lafferty in Rangers’ 1-0 win against Hamilton than the Northern Ireland international having a stinker, like some supporters have been suggesting on Twitter. The 31-year-old came extremely close to scoring on a couple of occasions throughout the 90 minutes and on another day he may have stuck the chances into the back of the net. To call him a passenger and useless is very harsh, it’s probably because supporters have been spoiled by how good a finisher Alfredo Morelos is. Lafferty has had some bad games this season but this one was by no means his worst. Hopefully the striker can get himself back on the scoresheet soon because that will do wonders for his confidence. The last time Lafferty scored in the Scottish Premiership was in the 5-1 hammering of St Johnstone in September. Maybe the congested festive fixture schedule will offer him the momentum he needs.

Being ahead is all that matters but there is a need for some more variety on our play. Lafferty has barely touched the ball
