Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that Leeds United will win 2-0 against QPR at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Although the Whites have not been playing amazingly well in the last few weeks, Marcelo Bielsa’ side has continued to pick up wins and goes into their next fixture second in the Championship table, four points clear of third-placed West Brom.

And Prutton believes that the Yorkshire giants will put QPR to the sword this weekend, especially after Steve McClaren’s side suffered a surprising defeat to Hull last week.

“Leeds haven’t been quite as convincing lately as they were earlier on in the season, but they are still winning and are right up in the thick of things at the top,” he said on the Sky Sports website.

“QPR will have been really disappointed to lose at home to a struggling Hull side, because those are the kinds of games you need to win if you want to make any impression on the top six. This should be a comfortable enough win for Leeds.”

OPINION

QPR have shocked a lot of people this season, especially after they were beaten 7-1 by West Brom back in August. However McClaren has made some signings since and the London club now sits 11th in the table, which is extremely respectable considering the ex-England manager was probably on the verge of being sacked. Leeds will be a big test for the Rs and one that they probably won’t be able to come on top in. The Whites have not been playing well lately and injuries are continuing to stack up, which is something that Prutton has not taken into account. QPR will be hungry after losing to Hull last week, so we are going to predict a 1-1 draw between the two sides. Leeds are due a poor result considering that they have been very lucky in recent games. Liam Cooper’s injury is a massive blow going into the festive schedule but Marcelo Bielsa always seems to have an ace up his sleeve.
