West Ham United captain Mark Noble has claimed that the club’s signing of goalkeeper Lukasz Fabiasnki was ‘like Black Friday times two’.

The Poland international arrived from Swansea City in the summer and has been a key member of the Hammers team under new manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Noble has been seriously impressed: “We’re lucky because we have two fantastic goalkeepers in Lukasz and Adrian,” he told the Evening Standard.

“We paid £7million for Lukasz and, having seen a lot of players come and go at this club, for what he cost, it’s like Black Friday times two,” he finished.

OPINION

Noble is spot on, here. Fabianski has been a sensational signing for the Hammers. He has arguably been their player of the season this term – up there with Declan Rice – and has been an absolute steal at £7million. That sort of money is chump change for Premier League teams but it’s got West Ham a world class goalkeeper. The Pole has enjoyed a career revival since he first moved to Swansea and looks nothing like the inconsistent shot-stopper he was at Arsenal. He’s taken his game to the next level in East London this campaign. His penalty save against Cardiff City in mid-week was a big one and it helped steer Pellegrini’s team to their second win in a row. If he can continue this form for the duration of the season then the Hammers should have a good year. It makes such a big difference for players and fans to know that their is a trusty goalkeeper manning the sticks, and West Ham have one of the top flight’s finest.
