OPINION
Against elite opponents in marquee matches, you need players with cool heads and ice in their veins. Tottenham had plenty of heroes on Tuesday night as they bossed it in Camp Nou and secured the 1-1 draw that will go down as one of the most memorable European nights in their history. But one mainstay who fluffed his lines was Son Heung-Min as the momentous occasion appeared to get to him. The attacking midfielder got the nod to start ahead of Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela after some impressive recent performances, which had included three goals and two assists in his last four Premier League matches. With his capacity for getting into brilliant positions coming to the fore, the south Korean had a lorry-load of excellent opportunities to give Spurs a major advantage but he wasted them with a series of scuffed and poorly directed finishes. As a number of supporters subsequently pointed out on social media, Son is a scorer of great goals but not a great goalscorer.

Son’s miss as bad as KWP’s mistake for me. Got to score those at this level as much as you can’t make those mistakes.
Going to be a tense next 45 minutes #coys

Son has to bury one of the three quality chances he’s had #THFC #COYS

Son is frustrating me tonight. Getting in good positions but scuffing everything. #COYS #THFC

KWP and Son have been poor so far, I’d possibly even consider bringing Lucas and Dier on for them at half time! Go with a back 3 with rose and Sissoko as wide midfielders. #COYS

But then Son’s miss was just as inexcusable! Both dreadful mistakes. Son should know better, has to score there.
