OPINION
Newcastle United have been on fire in recent weeks, but there is still a lot of work to be done on Tyneside. Both on the pitch and behind the scenes, things are far from perfect for the Magpies, and some fans took to Twitter to take out their frustrations on one player in particular after they fell behind to West Ham. Ayoze Perez was entrusted with supporting Salomon Rondon in attack, but failed to impress fans with a woeful first half display. The Geordies are in dire need of some genuine creativity, and unfortunately, 25-year-old Perez cannot offer that on a consistent basis. If they are to pull away from the relegation zone for good, they need goals, and Rafa Benitez must go all out to pursue a new attacking focal point in January. Perez is by no means a terrible player, but his tendency to miss golden chances at crucial moments, and his inefficiency in possession could prove costly for a Newcastle side operating on the finest of margins.
