A journalist from the States has claimed that Newcastle have all but completed a deal for exciting MLS talent Miguel Almiron.
Roberto Rojas, a co-host of LowLimitFootball, made the claim on his official Twitter page on Wednesday evening.
He said there are a few details to iron out but claimed the player would probably join in the winter transfer window.
He said it looked like a loan deal with an option to buy for £15million.

OPINION
This would be a major coup for Newcastle. Almiron has been a sensation this season for Atlanta United, scoring 13 goals and adding 12 assists in just 32 league games. That’s prolific. it might be a step down from the Premier League but this player was in-demand and he’ll be one of the most eagerly-anticipated players to arrive at Newcastle in a long time. It will be fascinating to see if he can reproduce his MLS form in the English top-flight and if he can he should add enough to Newcastle to steer them well clear of relegation. Almiron was always likely to be moving in January and it looks like Newcastle have beaten everyone to the punch. What with this and the takeover news gathering pace, this has been a very good couple of days for Newcastle fans.
