OPINION
There are few, if any, footballers in world football who have had as much written about them in the past 12 months as Paul Pogba. Brilliant for his country in Russia during the summer, his relationship and fallout with Jose Mourinho this campaign had all of the drama and tabloid attention of a soap opera. There is no questioning his ability, but his attitude has been lacking massively, and this point was hammered home by his masterful performance against Cardiff City on Saturday evening. It was as if the 25-year-old flicked a switch in the absence of his Portuguese nemesis, and United fans finally got a glimpse of the player Pogba has always promised to be. Joyous, free, and intelligent, he controlled the match from a wandering role and had noticed up two assists before the interval. United looked like their old selves for the first time in years during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s debut as caretaker manager. If Pogba keeps up this kind of performance, the rest of the season is going to be wild ride for the Reds.

Herrera will get the credit for that excellent strike, but that pass from Pogba was superb. We’ve been excellent in the first 30 minutes.

Immense vision from Paul Pogba with the pass and an absolute scorcher from Ander Herrera. This is fun.
