Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has admitted he is happy at the club and will possibly sign a contract extension in the near future.

The Germany international has become a key player for Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, with his pace and trickery on the left flank providing City with a productive attacking outlet.

Sane has now been quizzed about ongoing talks regarding a new deal, as previously confirmed by Guardiola [MEN], and admitted that signing an extension was on the cards.

Speaking ahead of their Champions League clash against Hoffenheim, Sane said, as quoted by BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone on Twitter: “I said from the beginning I am really happy here. The coach and players are amazing. I feel at home here. Of course it is possible.”

OPINION

Sane signing a new deal would be a huge boost for Manchester City, with the young dazzler now such a key part of their attacking play. It looked as though Sane’s first-team spot would be under threat with the arrival of Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City, but that has seemed to merely motivate the Germany international to raise his game. Sane is still a regular appearance on the flank for City, and with six goals and seven assists already this season, his productivity is still through the roof. City have managed to tie down several players to new deals over the past year or so, with Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne, Ederson and Gabriel Jesus all among that number to commit their future to the club, and there is no reason why Sane will not be the next to join that list. The winger has a huge future, and so does the club, so there is little concern he will decide against signing amid these ongoing talks.
