OPINION
The performance from goalkeeper Arijanet Muric was a pleasant surprise in Manchester City’s 1-1 Carabao Cup quarter final draw with Leicester City, which they eventually won on penalties on Tuesday night. He looked assured from start to finish and showed that he has masses of potential moving forward. He is just 20 years of age and so his best years are very much ahead of him, so the odd game in cup competitions will be massive for him. Claudio Bravo’s injury earlier this season, while distressing, has been good for him because it’s allowed him to play first team football on occasion and spend more time with the first team squad. On Tuesday’s showing he appears to be a ‘keeper with a bright future. He made an excellent save in the first half from Demarai Gray’s deflected effort, tipping a nasty looking drive wide of the post. It wasn’t an easy stop to make but he made it look fairly comfortable. Ederson won’t be quaking in his boots by any means, but Muric appears to be one to look out for in the future whether he’s at City or not.

Muric looks good in his small sample size. New number 2 next year or should he be playing more to keep developing?

So far, I'm impressed with all of the youngsters. Foden is amazing, Diaz is a fighter, Garcia plays like a veteran and Muric is as calm as Ederson.
