OPINION
Bernard has been hugely impressive for Everton ever since he signed for the Toffees from Shakhtar Donetsk over the summer, but he has struggled to make an impact in front of goal. Saturday’s outing against Brighton was the Brazilian’s 18th in all competitions for the Blues this season, and he has still yet to find the back of the net. The 1-0 loss on Saturday epitomised everything that frustrates Everton fans about the winger. Time and time again he worked his way into decent positions with decent play out wide, only to waste his opportunity or fire a shot high and wide. The Blues lack a consistent goalscorer, despite the protestations of Marco Silva, and in an ideal world would be able to rely on their wide men and attacking midfielders to chip in with strikes. In Bernard’s case he just isn’t doing enough to help his teammates out in the final third, and while he continues to put in selfless performances, he could really win people over with a few goals of his own.

Bernard got so much quality but gets in the box and he’s like an 8 year old.

Bernard does some other worldly things but he needs to work on his finishing. Dreadful in the final 3rd

Bernard just lacks the final product. Can see why bigger clubs weren't actually all the keen on him.
