OPINION
The Matteo Guendouzi fan club already had plenty of members even before Arsenal’s late show extended their unbeaten run on Saturday to 21 matches. A magnificent bicycle kick from Lucas Torreira, the smallest man on the pitch but with the biggest heart, secured a 1-0 triumph and the three points against a resilient Huddersfield side to lift the home side to third in the table ahead of the Tottenham and Chelsea matches later in the day. Guendouzi, selected in a three-man central midfield alongside Torreira and Granit Xhaka in Unai Emery’s 3-5-2 formation, played an integral role in the game’s only goal when his chipped pass was superbly taken down by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who, in turn, lifted it into the six-yard box for Torreira to work his magic. Little wonder there was plenty of love for Guendouzi, the 6ft 1in midfielder (Transfermarkt) who has guile to go with his grit.

Guendouzi set that whole sequence in motion as well. He and Torreira will give Arsenal quite a midfield for the next several years. https://t.co/8KkMuXIu6q

Gotta give a lot of credit to Guendouzi there. Class ball to force things to happen. Awesome touch from Auba too.

Great play by Guendouzi & Auba for that goal

The pass from Guendouzi over the top, the first touch from Aubameyang… and then a sweet cross followed by a Torreira bicycle kick. My drug.
