OPINION
Pontus Jansson’s magic, and these Leeds United fans know it because after his display against Blackburn on Boxing Day, the Whites faithful were in absolute meltdown over the Sweden international for his superb performance. Even though Leeds conceded two goals in their 3-2 win over Rovers, Jansson was a force to be reckoned with in the defence and he did not deserve to be on a side that failed to keep a clean sheet. It’s yet another game where the Whites have conceded by the Swedish centre-back has emerged as one of the best players, which is a huge piece of praise for him. What makes his performances even better is that he is playing in the heart of the defence as the only centre-back in the side. Kalvin Phillips has been magnificent this season but he is still not a centre-back. Jansson is doing the work of two defenders most of the time and he is coping superbly. No wonder these Leeds United fans have been drooling over the defensive colossus.

Pontus MotM by a mile. Stodgy from Forshaw, Ayling and Douglas and simply awful again from BPF.

Some of his touches and moves in the first half especially were out of this world. He’s a PL defender in waiting. Just pure class recently.

He's just incredible right now. He's enjoying how easy this is for him, the smile says it all. Pontus Cruyff ?

That’s the best I’ve ever seen him play. Total performance, including those last 5 minutes as a furious ad hoc centre forward.
